In order to solidly advance the application process for national-level research projects and enhance the quality of faculty research project applications, the School of Economics and Management held an "On-Site Review Meeting for 2025 National-Level Humanities and Social Sciences Project Applications" on March 7, 2025, in Conference Room 4520, Guancheng Campus. The meeting invited Professor Yi Xingjian, Vice President of Guangdong University of Finance, Professor Liu Jiyun, Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Dongguan University of Technology, and Professor Liu Chuan, Associate Dean of the School of Economics and Management at Dongguan University of Technology, to serve as review experts. The faculty team intending to apply for this year's national-level projects participated throughout the meeting.
During the review meeting, Professor Yi Xingjian first systematically explained the application norms and evaluation standards for National Social Science Fund projects. Drawing on his years of experience as the chief expert of major National Social Science Fund projects, he deeply analyzed key application points from the perspectives of topic value, argumentation logic, and academic innovation. While listening to faculty project presentations, Professor Yi accurately identified the innovative models of each project and provided constructive suggestions for optimizing key aspects such as research frameworks and technical routes.
Professor Liu Jiyun focused on the scientific nature of research methods, emphasizing that "the construction of theoretical models must balance academic depth and practical feasibility." She analyzed pathways for improving model adaptability through specific case studies. Professor Liu Chuan addressed the dimension of textual standardization, pointing out that "the wording of application forms must be precise and concise, while details such as data sources and literature citations must strictly follow academic norms." He also demonstrated methods for optimizing the literature review section on site.
This review meeting adopted an innovative model of "expert diagnosis + interactive discussion." The three experts provided specific revision suggestions for the faculty's application materials through one-on-one consultations. The expert guidance directly addressed pain points in the application process, clarifying directions for project optimization and enhancing understanding of research methodology. Professor Liu Jiyun explicitly stated that such targeted guidance activities should be institutionalized as a regular mechanism, effectively promoting the coordinated development of the school's research innovation capabilities and disciplinary construction.
The School of Economics and Management has always regarded national-level project applications as an important tool for research-driven education. By establishing a full-chain cultivation system of "pre-review – expert guidance – follow-up services," the school continuously enhances the core research competitiveness of its faculty. The successful holding of this review meeting has laid a solid foundation for the 2025 national-level project application work and injected new momentum into the school's efforts to build a high-level research team and develop distinctive advantageous disciplines.
